Placing a custom Ford factory vehicle order is easy and hassle-free. With a factory order you are empowered to choose the package and options that best fit your lifestyle. You will also save money. Ford provides the choice of rebates when you place your order and when you take delivery. You get to choose the best rebates for you.

How Does the Pre-Order/Custom Order Process Work?

If you would like to pre-order your new Ford suv, car or truck – customized for you, we can help with that. Another benefit of pre ordering or placing a custom order is that you will be able to lock in current low interest rates. Ford will be prioritizing direct dealership orders, so it is also the FASTEST WAY to get a new Ford car, truck or SUV. If you custom order your next vehicle, you will get the exact model you want in the right trim level and color – with the specific options you want.

Do factory orders still qualify for rebates and incentives?

Yes. In fact, Ford provides you the option of choosing the applicable rebates from either the time when you place your order or the time of your final delivery. You get whichever rebates are best for you and your family. Once you submit your custom built order, we review the current rebates and share those in addition to the other confirmations. Is ordering a car from the factory cheaper?

While ordered vehicles cost Ford Dealers the same as a vehicle ordered for stock, there are still advantages. While vehicles sit on at a car dealership, that dealer is required to make a payment each month. Those expenses add up and make dealers less likely to negotiate. Thoroughbred Ford doesn't add additional dealer markups, except for performance vehicles like the Ford Raptor, and Mustang Shelby GT500. Remember to establish a price with your ordering dealer prior to placing your deposit. Additionally, when you choose a vehicle from dealer stock, oftentimes it is missing an option or an exterior color you really wanted. In addition, Ford allows you to choose between the rebates at the time you place a custom vehicle order and the rebates at the time your vehicle is ready for delivery. This gives you an added opportunity to get the best possible factory discounts. How do I order a vehicle?

What specifications can I choose for my Ford Custom Order?

Your choices are only limited by the Ford order guide and commodity restrictions in some cases. You can pick your vehicle trim, package, color options, extra features, and anything else you want specific to your new Ford vehicle needs. We suggest you build and price your new Ford. If there are any restrictions or items that will extend your delivery time beyond the average 6-8 weeks, we make you aware. Then we provide alternatives and options for your consideration. How long will it take to have my Ford custom order vehicle delivered?

Lead times will vary by model and configuration, but Ford will make every effort to expedite your order. Many models arrive at your chosen dealership in an average of 6-8 weeks. However, this can and does vary based on several factors including commodity restrictions and model year switch over. Feel free to contact us directly for a specific estimated timeline.

Is there an extra cost for ordering a vehicle?

Final sale prices are all negotiated between the customer and dealer, but Ford does not charge extra for customer orders.

Is my ordered vehicle eligible for Ford rebates and incentives?

Ford can provide certain incentives for customer-placed orders. Ordering customers will be eligible for qualifying incentives at the time of order placement or qualifying incentives at the time of final delivery, whichever is preferred.

If I would like to finance my purchase or lease my ordered vehicle, how can I do that?

Thoroughbred Ford would be happy to help explain your options and help you arrange financing. Feel free to apply for financing.

How will I be notified when the custom ordered vehicle is being delivered?

Once your vehicle has arrived at the dealership, a dealer representative will contact you to confirm its arrival, collect any additional information needed to complete the sale and schedule a convenient time and location for final delivery to you.

How do you track a custom Ford ordered vehicle?

Ford allows the ability to track your custom order once it is assigned with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Dave Sinclair Ford will have the VIN available once your vehicle is scheduled for production. Once you have your VIN visit the Ford Vehicle Order Tracking website. Click the blue accept and track button and see the progress of your custom Ford.
